Pet Remedy Specialist Groom Treatments
Pet Remedy Treatments are designed with pets that need a little extra TLC in mind.
We always have a Pet Remedy diffuser plugged in when the groom room is in use but the specialist treatments offer more support and are ideal for dogs or cats who may be feeling extra nervous or who are recovering from injury or illness so need some extra tender care.
Pet Remedy works alongside the brain’s natural ‘messengers’ called neurotransmitters, which work by telling the nerve receiving the message either to calm (via GABA pathway) or get ‘fired up’. In times of stress or anxiety the nerves get over stimulated, which leads on to the many different signs of stress we see in our pets. The special Pet Remedy blend of essential oils is valerian based and works alongside these natural relaxation pathways to help calm the nerves of anxious or stressed pets. Always consult your vet if your pet shows signs of stress or you observe any behavioural changes.
We are taking bookings for the treatments listed below from 29th March. Pet remedy grooming products are very new and are not available yet - they were launched at Crufts. Pre booking will ensure your pet can be one of the first to experience this luxury calming treatment.
Destress and relax massage and groom pamper treatment for dogs
Your dog will come home, clean, shining, free from loose hair and sparkling clean but also super relaxed and feeling better able to cope with the stresses of daily life.
You will even have a stress busting pack to take home to help the relaxed feeling continue to have a positive effect!
This is our newest very special treatment and it is ideal for all dogs but especially good for those who may not be used to the groomers or who could be a little nervous. It is the perfect treat to pamper a dog who has not been feeling 100% and needs a little extra TLC. Perhaps after an illness, or moving home, or if there is a new baby in the family… your dog will love our new destress treatment.
Also ideal for older dogs who may have joint pain problems or those recovering from injury.
Arrival and the de stressing begins…….
On arrival your dog will be greeted by a trained grooming assistant who will guide them through the treatments and stay by their side for the whole session.
Their grooming assistant will escort them into our therapy room where the calm atmosphere will set the scene for a relaxing and soothing experience. There will be a Pet Remedy plugin in the room which will help your dog to relax ready to enjoy the experience. Lighting will be low and there will be no other animals allowed in the room.
In the groom room they will spend some time bonding with their groom assistant and being introduced to our canine massage expert who will begin their relaxation journey.
Pet remedy wipes will be used to slowly stroke over their body soothing frayed nerves and allowing our massage expert to spend some time identifying areas that may be a concern and where she will want to focus her skills. You will have been asked if there are any issues to be worked on such as sore joints or areas with a little less flexibility than usual and our expert will concentrate on these areas in particular when she moves onto giving a full body massage.
Special treats for your special pet……
During this time their groom assistant will stay close by and be ready with specially prepared treats baked exclusively for this treatment. On booking your session you will have been asked about any diet preferences and any food allergies to allow us to have treats ready for the session – and of course a bag to take away at the end.
Chewing aids relaxation so giving treats helps your pet to destress further and as the treats will contain valerian from Dorwest these will also help to relax your pet which will enable them to gain the maximum benefit from their treatment session.
As their massage draws to a close and aches and pains reduce and ebb away Pet Remedy calming prewash will be applied which is the first in the three stage bathing and grooming process.
The fast-acting Pet Remedy ingredients will further calm your pet while the coconut derived ingredients go to work on lifting dirt and oils as we initiate the cleansing process. Their coat will be combed or brushed out at this stage to help remove any loose hair and dirt prior to bathing.
De-stress and calming shampoo…..
Now it is time to step into a warm relaxing bath. Our hydraulic bath will be lowered to floor level making it just a tiny step for your dog and then the electric mechanism brings the bath up to a level where the grooming team can repeat the massage process but this time with Pet Remedy shampoo which contains naturally derived cleaning agents in exactly the right proportions to give deep cleaning but very gentle wash.
Drying and finishing……
On to the grooming table our variable speed blast dryer can be set at a level that your pet will find warming and drying but not too over powering. As they will still be accompanied by their groom assistant we will not be using cord restraints on the table as their new human friend is there to keep them safe, secure and comfortable.
This drying removes any remaining loose hairs to ensure they are not shedding when they come home.
Pet Remedy Leave in Conditioner and Coat shine is now applied so we can leave your pet with a soft, clean, sweet smelling and shiny coat. Enhanced with Rosehip, Bramble and Moss extracts along with vitamin B5 this nourishes the skin and coat and the inclusion of pet remedy carries on the calming effect when they leave our therapy room and return home relaxed, clean and happy.
To take home…..
Pets will leave us with a relaxation goodie bag that contains a supply of the Stan’s Pals relaxation nibbles, a pet remedy wipe to use at home the next day to carry on the good effects, and a pet remedy mini spray to use over the coming weeks to further extend the positive impact of the treatment.
We also recommend considering the purchase of a pet remedy bandanna which not only looks very fetching but is the ideal way to ensure you can get the Pet Remedy spray in the perfect location to allow your pet to benefit fully from its positive effects. Customers buying a bandana as part of their treatment will have a £5 discount applied at the till.
When you get home……
Your pet will arrive home (with their goodie bag) clean, sweet smelling and relaxed. You should expect them to be tired and we recommend arranging a relaxing evening with as much peace and quiet as possible.
